Trainee butcher — Person County

Now hiring: we are hiring a trainee butcher in Person County, North Carolina. You will be based at a busy retail butcher's shop. Requirements: • Clean, presentable and friendly at the counter • Quick and accurate on the weighing scales and order maths • Able to identify primal cuts of beef, mutton and poultry The role involves: • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone • Season and marinate meat on request • Mince meat and prepare keema on the grinder • Debone shoulders, legs and loins with a boning knife • Take customer orders and advise on cuts and cooking • Dress the chilled counter and rotate stock by date Six days a week, one day off.
