Now hiring: we are hiring a horizontal milling machine operator in Torfaen County Borough, Wales. You will work in a toolroom. Your main tasks: • Carry out daily lubrication and routine machine maintenance • Monitor tool wear and change blunt inserts and cutters • Set spindle speeds and feed rates to suit the material and cutter • Read engineering drawings and GD&T to plan the machining sequence • Set tool offsets and the work zero (G54) using an edge finder or probe You should have: • Proficient with micrometers, vernier callipers and dial gauges • Willing to work rotating shifts and night shift On-the-job training and a clear path to grow.
