Now hiring: we are hiring a gas meter installer in Allen Parish, Louisiana. You will be based at a heating and plumbing contractor. Day to day you will install flue and chimney terminals and check for adequate ventilation; purge air from the lines and commission appliances to the correct gas rate; braze copper gas lines and weld carbon-steel pipe joints; thread, ream and join black iron pipe with pipe wrenches and thread sealant; check every joint for leaks with soapy water and leak-detection spray. Ideal candidate: • Physically fit for lifting pipe, meters and cylinders • Able to read isometric and site drawings • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces Full-time, day shift.
