We are recruiting: brickwork mason (Kansas)

Vacancy available: we are hiring a brickwork mason in Ottawa County, Kansas. You will be based at a renovation and extension job. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day The role involves: • Building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge • Raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish • Spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel • Building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses Part-time with flexible hours.
