We are recruiting: we are hiring a steel fixer in Brunswick County, North Carolina. You will work at a precast concrete yard. Ideal candidate: • Own basic tools such as pliers, tie hook, tape and level • Confident tying with a tie hook and handling binding wire • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites Day to day you will set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift; keep the rebar stacked, tagged and free of mud and loose rust; tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers; bend bars to shape on a bar bending machine; read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules; cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder.
