Great opportunity: shakeout operator (Indiana)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Martin County, Indiana. You will be based at a busy iron foundry. Day to day you will tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture. Requirements: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor Six days a week, one day off.
