Restoration bricklayer wanted in Cherokee County

Join our team: we are hiring a restoration bricklayer in Cherokee County, Alabama. You will be based on a scaffolded high-rise site. Day-to-day duties: • Pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish • Checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod • Laying bricks to the line, level and plumb • Forming arches, piers and reveals around openings What we are looking for: • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) Full-time with occasional weekends.
