Great opportunity: we are hiring a lifting rigger in York County, Maine. The job is at a shipyard. Ideal candidate: • Sharp eye for safety and hazard awareness • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear The role involves: • Select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight • Secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists • Take part in toolbox talks and pre-lift briefings • Calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough. $4,900 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
