Now hiring: tig welder (North Carolina)

Great opportunity: we are hiring a tig welder in Greene County, North Carolina. You will work at a busy sheet-metal workshop. Day to day you will weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges; clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding; inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion; run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job. You should have: • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
