Great opportunity: we are hiring a mason's helper in Lake and Peninsula Borough, Alaska. You will be based with a civil contractor. What we are looking for: • Wear safety helmet, boots and gloves at all times • Willing to work outdoors in heat, dust and rain Day to day you will carry bricks, cement bags and sand up to the masons on site; erect and dismantle scaffolding and pass materials up; stack and store materials safely to avoid wastage; fix and strip shuttering and formwork for beams and columns; mix concrete and mortar to the correct ratio, by hand or in a pan mixer; clear debris and sweep the slab before the next pour.
