Garment machinist — Putnam County

Join our team: we are hiring a garment machinist in Putnam County, New York. You will be based at a busy garment factory. What we are looking for: • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus You will match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching; sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required; clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift; set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers; change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation.
