Immediate opening: we are hiring a steel fixer in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. The job is on a commercial tower construction site. Day-to-day duties: • Cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder • Check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour • Set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift • Assemble column and beam cages on the bench • Place main bars and distribution bars to the marked spacing Requirements: • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites • Aware of concrete cover and tolerance requirements • Comfortable working at height and in deep excavations Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
