Banksman — Story County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a banksman in Story County, Iowa. The job is in a heavy machinery workshop. The role involves: • Inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use • Check sling angles to stay within the working load limit • Carry out daily checks on cranes, hoists and lifting tackle • Secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists • Direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio • Fit tag lines to control and steady suspended loads Ideal candidate: • Valid rigging / lifting certificate or banksman-slinger ticket • Willing to work shifts, weekends and outdoors in all weather • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles 5+ years on the tools preferred. Performance bonus on top of base pay. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
