Immediate opening: we are hiring a steel fixer in Dewey County, South Dakota. You should have: • Comfortable working at height and in deep excavations • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing Day-to-day duties: • Check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour • Tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers • Assemble column and beam cages on the bench • Cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder • Lift and land prefabricated cages with the crane and banksman • Form stirrups, links and hooks to the correct dimensions Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
