Vacancy available: we are hiring a sample machinist in Mackinac County, Michigan. The job is on an export house sewing floor. You should have: • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus On a typical shift you will match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching; inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes; sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required; stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance; thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension; keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line. 1+ years on the tools preferred.
