We are recruiting: we are hiring a structural MIG welder in Grundy County, Iowa. The job is in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. Requirements: • Able to pass a 3G/4G plate test • Able to grind, fit-up and tack independently • Able to read weld symbols and fabrication drawings On the job you will handle: • Tack components to the jig and check the fit-up against the drawing • Set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness • Change worn contact tips and gas nozzles on the torch • Read fabrication drawings and weld symbols • Grind back and re-weld any defective runs Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough. $220 per day, negotiable for the right hands.
