Now hiring: we are hiring a bar bender and fixer in Essex County, Virginia. You will work at a rebar fabrication workshop. Requirements: • Able to read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Comfortable working at height and in deep excavations • Valid site safety card and PPE (helmet, boots, gloves) Your main tasks: • Keep the rebar stacked, tagged and free of mud and loose rust • Fix cover blocks and spacers to maintain concrete cover • Install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat • Cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder • Lift and land prefabricated cages with the crane and banksman • Bend bars to shape on a bar bending machine Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
