Fire and safety officer — Nome Census Area

Now hiring: we are hiring a fire and safety officer in Nome Census Area, Alaska. Day to day you will investigate near-misses and incidents and file root-cause reports; take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry; stop unsafe work and brief the supervisor on corrective action; inspect scaffolding, full-body harnesses and lifelines for work at height. Ideal candidate: • Able to read and prepare RAMS and method statements • Physically fit for full-site inspections on foot • Confident enough to halt unsafe work on the spot 4+ years on the tools preferred.
