You should have: • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings • Proven experience with TIG/GTAW on stainless and aluminium • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through Day to day you will feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions; run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints; set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator.
