Metal caster wanted in Jefferson County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a metal caster in Jefferson County, Oregon. You will be based in the melting bay of a steel foundry. On the job you will handle: • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges You should have: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal We offer $2,500 per month plus benefits.
