Requirements: • Confident with standard crane hand signals • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear You will read lift plans and method statements before starting; check sling angles to stay within the working load limit; inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use; fit tag lines to control and steady suspended loads; calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift; select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight.
