Garment machinist wanted in Lee County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a garment machinist in Lee County, South Carolina. The job is in a textile and apparel unit. What we are looking for: • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown On the job you will handle: • Operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line • Clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift • Topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish • Set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes • Stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance Part-time with flexible hours.
