Sample machinist • Osceola County, Iowa

We are recruiting: we are hiring a sample machinist in Osceola County, Iowa. You will work at a busy garment factory. On a typical shift you will keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line; inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes; operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line; sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required; thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension; set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers. You should have: • Comfortable working long hours seated at a fast line • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams 4+ years on the tools preferred. $4,000 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
