Now hiring: shakeout operator (Colorado)

We are recruiting: we are hiring a shakeout operator in San Miguel County, Colorado. You will be based in a non-ferrous casting shop. The role involves check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant. What we are looking for: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings Six days a week, one day off.
