Now hiring: pastry baker (Virginia)

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a pastry baker in Fluvanna County, Virginia. You will be based at a neighbourhood confectionery. Day to day you will load and unload the deck oven with a peel; pipe and fill cakes, pastries and cream rolls; grease and clean baking trays, tins and moulds; laminate puff and croissant dough by folding in the butter; prove dough in the proofer at the right temperature and humidity. What we are looking for: • Knowledge of dough fermentation and proving • Basic cake decorating and piping skills • Able to lift 25 kg flour sacks At least 4 year(s) in a similar role. Full-time with occasional weekends. A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew. Walk-in interviews this week.
