Your main tasks: • Keep the arc length and travel speed consistent • Grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer • Set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • Run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec You should have: • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work Rotating shifts.
