Aluminium tig welder — Deschutes County

We are recruiting: we are hiring an aluminium tig welder in Deschutes County, Oregon. You will be based at a stainless steel fabrication shop. On a typical shift you will set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run; set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator; grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper; weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges. You should have: • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Proven experience with TIG/GTAW on stainless and aluminium Full-time with occasional weekends.
