Now hiring: we are hiring a garment machinist in Jersey County, Illinois. The job is in a textile and apparel unit. What we are looking for: • Good eyesight and steady hands for fine, accurate stitching • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus On the job you will handle: • Topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation • Keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes 4+ years on the tools preferred.
