Furnace operator wanted in Tuscaloosa County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a furnace operator in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. You will be based at a busy iron foundry. On the job you will handle: • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles You should have: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling At least 4 year(s) in a similar role. $2,600 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
