Immediate opening: we are hiring a steel fixing chargehand in Western Connecticut Planning Region, Connecticut. The job is at a rebar fabrication workshop. You will lift and land prefabricated cages with the crane and banksman; bend bars to shape on a bar bending machine; check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour; install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat; tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working at height and in deep excavations • Valid site safety card and PPE (helmet, boots, gloves) • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing Pay around $4,100 per month, based on your experience.
