Great opportunity: banksman (Bauchi State)

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a banksman in Tafawa-Balewa, Bauchi State. The job is at a container port. On the job you will handle: • Fit tag lines to control and steady suspended loads • Read lift plans and method statements before starting • Carry out daily checks on cranes, hoists and lifting tackle • Coordinate tandem and multi-crane lifts with the signaller • Attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks • Establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area You should have: • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles • Ability to read lift plans and rigging diagrams Rotating shifts.
