Fire and safety officer • Nueces County, Texas

Now hiring: we are hiring a fire and safety officer in Nueces County, Texas. Day to day you will audit housekeeping and barricading around excavations and open edges; take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry; verify lifting gear, slings, shackles and crane test certificates; run the permit-to-work system for hot work and confined-space entry; run fire drills and check extinguishers, hydrants and alarm points. What we are looking for: • Confident enough to halt unsafe work on the spot • Comfortable working at height and inside confined spaces • Physically fit for full-site inspections on foot Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
