Now hiring: we are hiring a heavy equipment operator (dozer) in City of Charlottesville, Virginia. You will be based at a land-clearing site. Ideal candidate: • Familiar with GPS and laser machine-control systems • Proven experience operating crawler dozers (D6 to D8 class) • Comfortable working long shifts in dust, heat and uneven terrain The role involves: • Clear land of trees, stumps and debris before earthworks begin • Operate crawler dozers to push and spread fill across the site • Backfill trenches and foundations once services are laid • Cut and fill ground to the levels marked on the grade stakes • Work to the dig plan and the banksman's signals Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
