Foundry labourer • Blackburn with Darwen, England

We are recruiting: we are hiring a foundry labourer in Blackburn with Darwen, England. On the job you will handle: • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings Ideal candidate: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts Pay around £2,650 per month, based on your experience.
