Gas service engineer • City of Suffolk, Virginia

Now hiring: we are hiring a gas service engineer in City of Suffolk, Virginia. The job is at a heating and plumbing contractor. Day-to-day duties: • Carry out tightness (pressure) tests with a manometer and lock off the supply • Install gas meters, regulators and isolation valves • Braze copper gas lines and weld carbon-steel pipe joints • Lay and route steel and copper gas pipe runs to the appliance points • Set and adjust regulator outlet pressure with a gauge • Run polyethylene (PE) service pipe and electrofusion-weld the joints Ideal candidate: • Clean, methodical and safety-conscious • Competent in pipe threading, brazing and PE electrofusion Part-time with flexible hours.
