Garment machinist — Clarke County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a garment machinist in Clarke County, Mississippi. The job is in a small denim manufacturing unit. Your main tasks: • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required • Set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation • Press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges Requirements: • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams • Comfortable working long hours seated at a fast line Six days a week, one day off.
