Immediate opening: precision welder (Illinois)

We are recruiting: we are hiring a precision welder in Grundy County, Illinois. Requirements: • Own basic hand tools and PPE • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day On a typical shift you will set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal; feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle; grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper; prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run; inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion; run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints. Rotating shifts. Overtime paid at a premium rate. We offer $3,900 per month plus benefits. Contact us to fix an interview.
