Ideal candidate: • Steady hand and good eyesight for tight tolerances • Knowledge of short-circuit and spray-transfer modes • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety Day-to-day duties: • Maintain the torch liner, earth clamp and gas hose • Bevel and grind the joint edges clean before welding • Load ER70S-6 wire spools and check the drive rolls • Set the shielding-gas flow on the CO2/argon-mix regulator • Weld in flat, horizontal and vertical-up positions • Tack components to the jig and check the fit-up against the drawing Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
