Requirements: • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings Day to day you will carry out 6G pipe welds where required; weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges; read the WPS and weld to the specified parameters; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring); set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator.
