On a typical shift you will top up the press hydraulic oil and grease the slide ways; fit and check guards, light curtains and safety interlocks before starting; operate mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic power presses; deburr and stack finished components for the next operation; adjust press stroke, shut height and tonnage settings. Ideal candidate: • Able to read engineering drawings and job cards • Knowledge of press safety, guarding and lockout-tagout Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
