Join our team: we are hiring a garden maintenance worker in Adair County, Iowa. You will be based in a botanical garden. Requirements: • Previous experience as a gardener or in grounds maintenance • Able to safely operate mowers, strimmers and hedge trimmers • Good knowledge of common plants, shrubs and seasonal planting On a typical shift you will lay turf and oversow bare patches of lawn; apply fertiliser, compost and mulch to beds; weed flower beds and borders by hand and with a hoe; spray pesticides and fungicides to control pests and disease; dig over and turn the soil and prepare seedbeds; check and adjust sprinkler timers and irrigation heads. $18 per hour, negotiable for the right hands.
