Foundry worker • Highlands County, Florida

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a foundry worker in Highlands County, Florida. The job is at a busy iron foundry. The role involves: • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles Ideal candidate: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
