Great opportunity: pipe TIG welder (New York)

Join our team: we are hiring a pipe TIG welder in Montgomery County, New York. You will work in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. Ideal candidate: • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection The role involves: • Read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing • Set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • Grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish • Clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush 3+ years on the tools preferred.
