Now hiring: we are hiring a GTAW welder in Sumter County, Florida. On the job you will handle: • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • Select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Keep the arc length and travel speed consistent • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise You should have: • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
