Sand plant operator — Stanton County

Now hiring: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Stanton County, Kansas. You will be based in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Day to day you will mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces. Ideal candidate: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Basic grinding and fettling skills Full-time, day shift.
