Bench joiner — Prince of Wales-Hyder Census Area

We are recruiting: we are hiring a bench joiner in Prince of Wales-Hyder Census Area, Alaska. You will work on a busy construction site. Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of timber types, grades and fixings • Confident with hand and power tools such as saws, routers and planers • Physically fit to lift, kneel and work at height The role involves: • Install skirting boards, architraves and dado rails • Cut mortise-and-tenon and dovetail joints with chisels and a mallet • Read and work from architectural drawings and cutting lists • Erect formwork and shuttering for concrete pours • Plane and sand timber to a smooth, square finish • Hang internal and external doors, fitting hinges, locks and handles 1+ years on the tools preferred. Six days a week, one day off. Overtime paid at a premium rate. $5,300 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
