The role involves complete delivery notes, CMR paperwork and proof-of-delivery; present documents at weighbridges and check posts; check load weight and axle distribution against permitted limits; keep a safe following distance, adjusting for weather and load; secure loads with ratchet straps, chains and load bars; check tyre pressures, engine oil, coolant and brake fluid levels.
