Core maker • County of Flintshire, Wales

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a core maker in County of Flintshire, Wales. You will work at an aluminium die-casting plant. On a typical shift you will fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities. What we are looking for: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
