Now hiring: we are hiring a CO2 welder in Sioux County, Iowa. The job is in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. Ideal candidate: • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • Able to pass a 3G/4G plate test • Comfortable welding mild steel, stainless and aluminium Day-to-day duties: • Set the shielding-gas flow on the CO2/argon-mix regulator • Load ER70S-6 wire spools and check the drive rolls • Set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness • Bevel and grind the joint edges clean before welding • Grind back and re-weld any defective runs • Lay stringer and weave beads on fillet and butt joints Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
