Requirements: • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Able to pass a weld test on the spot The role involves strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal; sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size; feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool; set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks; grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish; run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec.
